This wonderful Mekka wallpaper, designed by Arthur Berger in c.1914, features stylised winding plants that climb across the wall. Taking inspiration from the Middle East, the pattern is reminiscent of oriental carpet motifs and is presented here in its original colourway with brown stems, green leaves, and red flowers.

This wallpaper is a collaboration between Boråstapeter, Millesgården museum in Stockholm and ©MAK – Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna. The original Mekka design is held in the Wiener Werkstätte archive at ©MAK.

Yes, our wallpapers are printed on materials sourced from sustainable forestry. In production, no PVC or harmful solvents are used, and they exclusively work with water-based paints and surface treatments that can be safely handled in the factory's own purification facilities. The factory continually strives to reduce energy consumption, for instance, by using production waste for district heating in the city of Borås. And when you receive the finished wallpaper roll from Boråstapeter, it is packaged in recyclable material.
